# Overview of the user interface
Hera's user interface has been designed by expert hands and is distinctive and intuitive. A pleasure to the eye, it enhances efficiency for laundry operators and laundry technicians alike. Everything is exactly where it should be, making it easy to navigate each screen and actually get things done quickly and effortlessly.
# Icons
In this section, we'll walk you through the icons used throughout the design.
Each icon can represent:
- a function, such as open door
- an access to different areas of the control, such as general settings
- a way to scroll through the content, such as scroll right
| Icon | Description |
|---|---|
 | This icon means "Open door" and appears on the bottom bar each time it's allowed to safely open the door of the washing machine. Simply tap on the icon to open the door. |
 | This icons represents "Factory Mode". Tap on this icon to access system parameters. Please note system parameters are very important for the correct functioning of the washing machine, so they should be set very carefully, doublechecking they are fully correct. |
 | This icon represents the language selection function. Simply tap the icon to access the list of available languages. |
 | This icon means "Settings" and you can tap it to access general settings such as screen brightness, date and time settings, wifi connection, bluetooth connection and so on. |
 | This icon means "Arrow right" and allows you to scroll right to access further content or proceed with the next screen view. |
 | This icon means "Arrow left" and allows you to scroll left to access previous content or go back to the previous screen view. |
 | This icon represents time and it usually stands next to the indication of a wash cycle or wash program total duration. |
 | This icon represents temperature and it usually stands next to the indication of a wash cycle or wash program set temperature. |
 | This icon represents WiFi and allows you to connect Hera to your internet connection and to the Smart Dashboard web app. |
 | This icon represents Bluetooth and allows you to connect Hera to your smartphone and to the Wash Configurator App. |
 | This icon represents the increment function and you shall use it each time you want to increase a value by one unit. |
 | This icon represents the decrement function and you shall use it each time you want to decrease a value by one unit. |
 | This icon represents the pause function and you shall use it each time you want to pause a running wash program. |
 | This icon represents the stop function and you shall use it each time you want to completely stop a running wash program. |
